Frédéric Agneessens

Frédéric L. Agneessens has been working in investment banking since 1989 where he started his career in the high yield securities department at Drexel Burnham Lambert in Los Angeles and the New York offices as an accredited securities broker.

In 1993, he founded Axxess Partners, his own entrepreneurial, corporate finance and M & A boutique. Since, he has advised over two billion Euros in cross-border transactions representing corporate, financial, entrepreneurial, and family buyers and sellers in various industries. Axxess Partners is the Belgian member firm of the global Corporate Finance Associates (CFAW) network, an independent alliance of investment bankers with 36 offices worldwide focussing on small and midsize businesses.

Previously, he was also Managing Director with The Armand Group, an investment and merchant banking boutique in Chicago.

He is also a senior advisor at Fiduciary Co-Investment Partners in London, where he is actively involved in global private equity co-investments. In addition, he was appointed in 2023 non-executive director at CFS Fixing Systems Ltd, , a British family business operating in building materials supplies.

Additionally, he has been advising several Private Equity houses in their investment and buy and build strategies. For Ardian, a global PE house with $150 billion under management, he sourced, initiated, assisted in the structuring & financing, developing, monitoring and later exiting the food ingredients company Sfinc nv, (now called ‘Solina’) which he helped in tripling the size in three years, making double digit returns for all investors including management.

In addition, he acted as Chairman of the Board of TrustTeam nv, a Belgian IT company based in Kortrijk, representing the interests of Ardian, supporting the founder and management in its further buy and build expansion with 6 add-on acquisitions since its investment in November 2018. Again, he assisted in tripling the value.

He was also a principal investor and active Board Member in several mid-size business such as Mercura Industries nv, a niche aluminium manufacturing business focused on the hospitality industry where he was CEO; Saluc sa, the world leader in ‘Aramith’ billiard balls; Revell GmbH, the German leader in hobby and leisure products; He was also a co-founder of AB 3, a private commercial broadcasting company for the French speaking community of Belgium, now controlled by French Group TF1 (controlled by Groupe Bouygues).

He was involved in several restructuring transactions on behalf of Belgian institutions and has built specific management disciplines.

Frédéric has earned his Master of Business Administration in International Management at Thunderbird School of Global Management (a unit of Arizona State University) in Phoenix, Arizona. He also obtained a Post-Graduate Degree in Finance from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven). He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the European University in Antwerp.

Frédéric is the Honorary Consul of Canada for Flanders, Kingdom of Belgium, and President of the Belgian Consular Union (BCU). In 2024 he was appointed Honorary Chairman of CanCham Belux, the Chamber of Commerce Canada-Belgium-Luxemburg and joined the Board of the Federation of Belgian Chambers in 2021.
